Facial mesotherapy (mesolift) delivers skin-renewing hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and amino acids into the skin through tiny needles. Delivering these ingredients directly and stimulating the skin boosts collagen and elastin production, increases hydration and renews the skin.
The word comes from 'meso', meaning middle, and 'therapy', meaning treatment, so it literally means treatment of the middle layer of the skin. Originally a medical technique using micro-injections, mesotherapy was later found to have a rejuvenating effect and is now widely used for anti-ageing.
Wrinkles and laxity are a natural part of ageing, and their effects vary from person to person. Dry skin tends to show wrinkles, while oily skin may start to sag before it wrinkles. Whatever your skin type, the right anti-ageing care matters, and mesotherapy is recommended from the first signs of ageing. Only very small amounts of product are used, helping to trigger the skin's own repair process.
Pigmentation mesotherapy uses ingredients that aim to brighten the skin and reduce the look of dark spots. It is not recommended during summer; if you do have it in summer, an SPF 50 sunscreen is essential. Under-eye mesotherapy uses ingredients such as rosemary, butcher's broom (ruscus), vitamin C, antioxidants and hexapeptide, delivered with very fine needles to reduce the look of fine lines, dark circles, puffiness and hollows. Because the blend is tailored to each person, these products should never be used at home.
For those who prefer to avoid needles, a painless needle-free option using a meso-peeling handpiece is available. However, as the ingredients stay on the surface and do not reach the middle layer, its effect is more limited than needle mesotherapy.
Your skin's needs are reviewed and the right blend chosen for face, pigmentation or under-eyes.
An anaesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area.
After around 20 minutes, the ingredients are delivered to the mid-dermis with fine needles.
A course of 4–6 sessions, 1–4 weeks apart, is planned.
One session every three months is recommended to maintain results.
